Brooklyn, NY (July 13, 2026) – Two people were injured on Sunday morning, July 13, when a wrong-way collision at the intersection of Henry Street and Union Street in Carroll Gardens sent a vehicle crashing into the front of a neighborhood deli.
According to reports, a sedan traveling the wrong way on Henry Street shortly before 8:30 a.m. nearly struck a pedestrian before colliding with a second vehicle that was crossing on Union Street. The force of the impact pushed the second vehicle through the front windows of a deli on Henry Street. The store owner and an employee were inside at the time and were able to move toward the back of the shop as the crash occurred.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene, and two people – the driver of the struck vehicle and a passenger from the wrong-way vehicle – were transported to an area hospital. Their conditions have not been released. Police took one driver into custody in connection with the crash, and the circumstances remain under investigation.
