Bronx, NY (July 31, 2026) – Five passengers were injured when two MTA buses collided on Hunts Point Avenue near East 163rd Street in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx.
According to reports, the collision occurred late in the evening when a Bx6 bus traveling along Hunts Point Avenue struck the rear of a second MTA bus, a Bx5, that had reportedly stopped along the roadway with passengers still on board. Authorities said the force of the impact was substantial, damaging the interior of at least one bus and leaving several riders shaken.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and treated multiple passengers for their injuries. Reports indicate that at least three of the five injured riders were taken to a local hospital, and that one passenger required assistance after becoming caught between seats that had buckled during the crash.
