Queens, NY (June 21, 2025) — A traffic collision in the Flushing area of Queens led to multiple injuries Friday evening, June 20. The incident took place around 6:16 p.m. on the westbound side of the Long Island Expressway (I-495) near Main Street, during one of the day’s busiest travel periods.
Emergency crews, including NYPD traffic officers and medical responders, arrived quickly at the scene to assess and assist those involved. Several individuals were reported injured; some received treatment on site, while others were likely transported to local hospitals for additional care. The total number of those hurt has not yet been confirmed.
The crash resulted in major traffic backups along the westbound lanes of the expressway as responders worked to investigate the cause and safely remove the damaged vehicles. The roadway has since been cleared.
