Distracted driving a major danger for teens

Teen drivers in New York and throughout the country may be at a greater risk of being in a motor vehicle accident than other age groups. Around 3,000 teenagers die each year in traffic accidents, and they die at a rate that is nearly three times that of other age groups.

The six most common construction injuries

Construction injuries are not something that anyone ever expects. They jolt employers, workers and families out of their daily routines and can throw lives into chaos. If you or someone you care about has experienced a construction-related injury, know that you are not alone. Millions of injuries occur in these work settings each year. Here are six of the most common construction injuries that take place.

Children's deaths possibly due to defective baby products

New York parents should be aware that baby products are not always safe. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, over the past six years 10 children have died after using homeopathic teething tablets, and there have been 400 adverse events involving the tablets. In response, the FDA has initiated an investigation and has cautioned parents to stop using the products and seek immediate medical attention if their children begin to experience difficulties.

Transportation Department announces new traffic safety plans

Drivers in the New York City metro area might be able to look forward to safer roads within the next three decades. Reacting to a 7.2 percent increase in traffic fatalities for 2015, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced a plan to eliminate deaths caused by motor vehicle accidents within 30 years. The plan is based on one that originated in Sweden and has since spread to other countries and cities.

What is negligent entrustment?

Many New Yorkers will experience a car accident at some point during their lives. Most of these accidents will be minor, but in some cases, the aftermath of a car wreck can be devastating, resulting in life-changing injuries and costly medical bills.
